About Adria Poljak

Adria was called to the Bar in 2012 at Three Wentworth Chambers. Her practice consisted mainly of appellate, commercial, insurance and administrative law/judicial review.

Before coming to the Bar, Adria worked as a hospital scientist in multi-disciplinary pathology laboratories and later as an ethics officer for medical research (Human research ethics committee (HREC)). Once admitted to legal practice, she sat as a legal member of a HREC for a couple of years. The HREC is charged with reviewing the ethics of medical research and approving its conduct in a relevant health district.

From May 2016 to October 2024, Adria was appointed as a full time Senior Member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) in the General & Other Division (General, Security, Small Business and Tax, Taxation and Commercial), and Migration Division. In the period during her appointment, Adria was concerned with a wide range of review proceedings in the field of public law covering a vast array of jurisdictions, predominantly in tax and commercial, regulatory, civil aviation, workers compensation, customs, social security, national security, health and therapeutic goods, and migration (s501 visa cancelations). Adria was the national practice leader at the AAT for all Regulatory matters since May 2021 to October 2024.

Between May 2016 and October 2024, Adria was appointed as a nominated member to issue warrants and was also an approved examiner under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2022 (Cth).

Adria was an accredited mediator from October 2023 to October 2024.

Adria returned to the Bar in October 2024 at 12 Wentworth Selbourne Chambers.

On 1 December 2025, Adria rejoined Three Wentworth Chambers.
