Third Floor Wentworth Chambers welcomes applications from persons who wish to read on the floor.
Our floor seeks to provide the support and resources necessary for establishing a successful career at the Bar. In doing so, we offer:
- Free accommodation for the 12-month duration of readership.
- A dedicated Readers Room on the floor.
- Exposure to a range of practice areas.
- A collegiate atmosphere and “open door” policy, allowing readers to seek assistance not only from their tutor on the floor.
- The opportunity, on the conclusion of their readership year, for membership on the floor.
Readers at Third Floor Wentworth Chambers are strongly encouraged to have one tutor from the floor, and a second tutor from another chambers. Our clerks are able to assist with finding a suitable tutor both on and off the floor.
Applications are usually considered 6-12 months in advance of the commencement of the Bar Practice Course. When assessing applications, Third Floor Wentworth Chambers considers a range of factors, including strong academic achievement, relevant professional work experience, and skills in oral and written advocacy. In your application, please include a cover letter, CV, academic transcript, and the contact details of at least two referees.
