After 10 years working as a solicitor, including running his own law firm in the Sydney CBD for five years, Sebastian was admitted as a barrister in 2017. Sebastian is currently working on cases in NSW, South Australia and the Northern Territory and is admitted to practice law in each of those jurisdictions. He regularly accepts briefs in regional and remote areas including those at short notice.
Outside of legal practice, Sebastian has been a Practitioner in Residence at the Australian Research Council’s Centre for Excellence in Policing and Security (CEPS) and currently teaches Business Law and Criminal Law & Procedure at the Australian Catholic University’s Thomas More Law School.
Among other appointments, he has been a member of the Criminal Law Committee (2010-2016) and the Human Rights Committee (2009, 2016) of the Law Society of NSW.
Sebastian holds degrees in business and law (with First Class Honours), and a Masters of Law from the University of Cambridge (where he was David M. Livingstone Scholar and recipient of a Pegasus Award).
